Our prayers will not mean anything to God until they first mean something to us. In other words, haphazard prayers come from a heart that doesn't care. And God only hears the heart that cares to heed His heart. "And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us" (I John 5:14).

Ten years. Goodness, gracious. How can it be? I am only where I am today because of God’s goodness and His graciousness toward me--and in spite of me. There would be no need for His grace without disgrace. You see, today, March 7th, marks the 10th year since my irresponsible and reckless decision to drink and drive, which claimed the life of Mr. Hort Kap and caused so many other lives to implode. It is true that when we lose our wonder of God that we begin to wander from God. But conversely, when we stand in awe of Him, we are more likely to stay close to Him. May we never lose our wonder. "Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him" (Psalm 33:8).
